Google Drive to Notebook flows

Use this guide to sync specific Google Drive folders with NotebookLM. Whenever you add a supported file to the configured folder, WebSync will automatically route it into your target notebook.

Drive-to-Notebook flows automate your source ingestion:

  • Automatic Syncing: New supported files added to your Drive folder are automatically routed into your notebook.
  • No Manual Uploads: Eliminates the need to manually download and re-upload files.
  • Syncing Hubs: Ideal for managing project-specific folders where you regularly add new documents or research.

To ensure a smooth connection:

  • Extension Version: You must have the WebSync extension v2.0 or later installed.
  • Account Parity: You must be signed into the WebSync extension, the WebSync website, and NotebookLM using the same Google account.

Navigate to the Drive-to-Notebook configuration page: https://websync-for-notebooklm.com/app/drive-to-notebook

Provide the following information:

  • A Name: This will serve as both the name of the flow and the target notebook in NotebookLM.
  • The Folder Link: Paste the URL of the Google Drive folder you wish to sync (e.g., https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/<your-folder-id>).

When you create the flow, a Google OAuth popup will appear.

Security Note: WebSync only requests access to Metadata (read-only) to monitor folder changes. The actual content of your files is NOT shared with WebSync. This process is secure and has been successfully audited by third-party security experts.

Once authenticated, WebSync registers the folder for change monitoring and begins syncing supported files into your linked notebook.

WebSync supports the same file types as NotebookLM, including:

  • Google Docs
  • PDFs
  • Text files
  • Certain image formats

Files that are not supported by NotebookLM will be marked as “skipped” in your flow status.

  • Check the Extension: Ensure the WebSync extension is installed and running.
  • Verify Accounts: Ensure you are using the same Google account across the extension, the website, and NotebookLM.
  • Check Folder Link: Ensure the URL provided is a direct link to a Drive folder.

If your flow isn’t behaving as expected, feel free to reach out for support.
